I have studied and engaged with China since 1993 when I started my undergraduate studies in Chinese history.
I have also been fortunate to work, study and live in Russia, China and the United States - three key actors of today’s geopolitical upheaval - and continue to study their systems, leaders and the dynamics of competition and alignment.

Asia literacy
For most of my career I have been working on building Australia’s Asia literacy.
My work is focussed on finding policy solutions and mobilising institutions and ecosystems to build a truly Asia-competent Australia.
